Greetings to you Holyground Family!
Easter 2022 approaches, and we’re both excited and determined to celebrate together!
Easter is a special time in the Christian year, celebrating the Death and Resurrection of our living Lord Jesus.
We believe it’s important to gather together, encourage each one another, seek God, and be built up.
This year, we (Northland Evangelical Movement) will be holding several identical Easter celebrations back-to-back over the Easter weekend. These gatherings will take the form of pizza parties, with the afternoon and evening dedicated to our community of leaders reconnecting with each other, seeking God, and taking intentional time out to center in on the Easter story. We will accomplish these goals over the afternoon and evening by partaking in a series of team building activities and games, scripture reflections, worship, rich discussion times, and enjoying wood fired pizza.
With govt restrictions on camping events and gatherings having still been present as a factor during our planning for Easter this year, we have opted to celebrate together via a series of smaller gatherings, rather than a large-scale camp.
With future infection rate levels hard to predict at time of decision making, the need to plan in ways that keep our community safe has been a factor in determining what approach we take this year to our ministry.
Our hope is to offer a fun and vibrant space for our community to gather and celebrate Easter together.
What you should know:
Come and join us for our Pizza party this Easter!
We are planning an action-packed programme of games, fun, great food, friends, singing and learning together. Don't miss out - spaces are limited!
The numbers at each gathering have been kept intentionally limited to approx. 25 people. This has not solely been for “covid reasons”, but rather is also an intentional move in planning from our team to create a group gathering size that is optimal for deeper connection and not just a “crowd”.
The two evenings will be run back-to-back, and after you sign up with your RSVP we will reply to let you know which evening is “your evening”, at the time of your acceptance.
Both gatherings will be run with an identical line up and menu, so regardless of which night you are present for, we will all be part of the same experience together!
The gatherings will be run at Roland Schreurs’ home, and we’ll send you all details after you sign up and closer to the time, including schedule details.
What should you bring?
-- Old clothes including something warm – something you won’t mind hitting the bush with or getting a little smoky.
- Old closed-in shoes (for health and safety in the kitchen and in the bush)
- Bible if you have one
- Baking for the afternoon tea
Please leave behind phones/electronic devices/money/junk food/ valuables/girlfriends/boyfriends. Our focus at this gathering is on celebrating Easter, connecting with God, and reconnecting as a group, in a level and inclusive way. The items just listed would detract & distract from this goal.
While we attempt to cater for a basic range of dietary needs, it is very helpful if people with particularly restrictive requirements are able to bring some of their own food. Please indicate any dietary needs at registration, and if these are complex we will give you a call to discuss the planned menu.
We need your help to make our event a friendly and safe ‘haven’ that’s fun for all of us!!! At this event we aim for there to be no swearing, bullying, fighting, name-calling, threatening, stealing or lying. Please leave bad attitudes, expensive or electronic equipment (phones, ipads, electronic games, cameras), money, and junk food all at home – we can’t take responsibility for them if they go missing. You will survive without them for a few hours! Also, while it goes without saying, please don't bring knives or weapons, drugs, alcohol or cigarettes of any sort to our gathering.
Parents, please encourage your child to speak with a leader should they have any worries during this event. Please be aware that people who are impacting negatively on others’ experience may be asked to return home.
